Features and applications

Characteristics of Aluminium Busbars

1.Excellent Thermal Conductivity

Aluminium alloys have good heat - conducting properties. The small temperature difference between the evaporation temperature of the refrigerant and the outer surface of the aluminium busbar can increase the evaporation temperature. This helps to improve the energy - efficiency ratio of the refrigeration compressor and reduce energy consumption. For example, in a cold - storage refrigeration system, the high thermal conductivity of the aluminium busbar enables it to transfer cold quickly and improve the refrigeration efficiency.

2.Light Weight

The density of aluminium is about 2.7g/cm³, much lower than that of many common metals. The weight of the aluminium busbar is light. Compared with the evaporator area, its weight is about one - sixth of that of the ф38 steel pipe. This characteristic makes the aluminium busbar easy to install, saves a lot of structural investment and installation costs, and has advantages in some scenarios where weight is a concern. For example, in a building structure, it can reduce the overall weight of the building.

3.Less Refrigerant Consumption

The aluminium busbar tube usually has an internal rib structure, which can increase the contact area of the refrigerant. The external fins can also increase the contact with the air, thus greatly improving the utilization rate of the refrigerant, reducing the amount of refrigerant in the system and the use cost.

Special Structure

The fins of the aluminium alloy finned tube are parallel to the aluminium tube, forming a flaky shape. The formed aluminium busbars fix the flaky finned tubes in parallel, forming a number of parallel channels. When the refrigeration system is working, the cold air forms a flue effect in the channels, accelerates to sink, and the convection speeds up. Therefore, the cooling rate is fast and a lot of electricity can be saved.

4.Strong Corrosion Resistance

The aluminium busbar with special surface treatment has strong corrosion resistance and can be used in some relatively harsh environments. For example, in a humid place or an area with a certain amount of corrosive gases, the aluminium busbar can maintain good performance.

5.High Safety

The aluminium busbar has a high pressure - bearing capacity. Through a special processing technology, its structural strength is reliable. It is not easy to crack or leak during use, so it is safe. In electrical applications, the good conductivity and safety of the aluminium busbar make it an ideal conductive material.

II. Applications of Aluminium Busbars

1.Refrigeration Field

In refrigeration equipment such as cold storages and refrigerated trucks, the aluminium busbar is widely used as an evaporator. Its efficient heat - exchange ability and energy - saving effect can quickly reduce the temperature inside the storage and keep the temperature stable. At the same time, it can reduce the frequent start - up of the compressor and extend the service life of the compressor.

2.Electrical Field

In high - voltage and low - voltage electrical appliances, switch contacts, power distribution equipment, busways and other electrical engineering, the aluminium busbar is used as a conductive bus. It has the advantages of low resistivity, large current - carrying capacity and relatively low cost.

In the installation of transformers, vacuum electrical appliances, enclosed bus ducts, the connection between generators and buses, rectification equipment, the connection between rectifier cabinets and disconnectors, the aluminium busbar is also a commonly used conductive connection material.

3.Construction Field

Due to its good corrosion resistance, light weight and a certain strength, the aluminium busbar can be used for the frame structure of building doors and windows and curtain walls, as well as the decoration and structural support of roofs and balconies.

4.Aerospace Field

Some aluminium alloy aluminium busbars, because of their high strength, good processability and a certain heat resistance, can be used for aircraft structural parts, rivets, propeller elements and accessories.

5.Transportation Field

In vehicles such as cars, subway cars and railway passenger cars, the aluminium busbar can be used for the manufacturing of body structural parts, vehicle doors and windows, shelves, engine parts, air - conditioners, radiators, body panels, wheel hubs and other components.
